Aristides Eliopoulos is Professor of Biology & Genetics and Head of the Department of Biology at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), School of Medicine, where he leads research at the intersection of genetics, inflammation, and metabolic health. His work is at the forefront of precision medicine, leveraging AI to develop personalized therapeutic and nutritional strategies.
Beyond his prolific academic record—which includes five patents and a distinguished citation count—he has successfully bridged the gap between the lab and the market as co-founder and CSO of the genomics spin-off Genosophy®. He has coordinated multiple high-level National and EC-funded initiatives and remains a cornerstone of Greek medical education through his extensive teaching and textbook authorship.
Investigating the molecular and genetic drivers of liver pathologies, with a focus on how autophagy and lipid pathways influence the progression of MASLD.
Developing innovative preventive and therapeutic strategies targeting metabolic disorders and malignant diseases.
Mapping the molecular and genetic pathways that establish the causal links between obesity and cancer development.
Integrating multimodal omics, lifestyle, and dietary data into AI platforms to advance precision medicine and personalized nutrition.
